Membrane Filter Press

Membrane Filter Press

The membrane filter press is a further development of the chamber filter press. In this instance, the press is not filled with the aid of the filling pump up to the final pressure, but only up to about 6-8 bar. Following this, the cake is mechanically pressed further by impact with the membranes integrated with the chamber plates.

Advantages :

  • Shorter filtration times compared to the chamber filter press.
  • Higher solids content compared to the chamber filter press.
  • To be used preferably in case of sludges difficult to be dewatered, i.e. for which a satisfying dryness degree cannot be achieved by a chamber filter press.
