Basket Screen

Basket Screen

To avoid interferences in pump stations, accumulated rejects have to be eliminated before arriving the pumps. In that case, for low laying channels basket screens are used, which are installed in front of the aperture of the collector channel within the pump shaft.

The basket screen consists of three main components:

The guide frame: made of a robust steel construction for both-way guidance of the basket. At the frame construction carriers are fixed, needed for fastening of the whole framework onto the pump shaft. At the upper part of the frame carrier plates are fixed, providing for installation of an electric chain hoist.

  • The basket: implemented as an angle plate construction with flat screen bars (spacing 20-50 mm).
  • The automatic fall screen: made as a riggid steel frame construction with rods, spaced 20-50 mm.
  • The fall screen also is guided within a steel frame. By lowering of the fall screen, the inlet channel is automatically closed during the lift of the basket

Advantages:

  • suitable for deep wells, small space requirement
  • the screen allows the passage of grit without malfunctioning
  • screenings conveyed positively to the discharge point
  • excellent cost/performance ratio and easy maintenance
